Reliable Pumping for Evacuating Large Volumes to High Vacuum:
Everest Roots Vacuum Pumps (RVP) which is also popularly known as Everest Mechanical Vacuum Booster is a High Vacuum pump having high volumetric displacement and can be used with suitable backing pumps to achieve lower pressures and higher pumping speeds. They are also used when greater capacities are needed &/or faster pump down is required. For thermal overload protection, RVP can be fitted with a pressure switch. Root vacuum pumps are typically operated thru electronic frequency converters that have become very popular ensuring wide range of operations and high cut in pressures.
These pumps, when combined with backing pumps that compress against the atmosphere, can increase the maximum pressure of a pump system up to 10 times. Two Roots vacuum pumps and the corresponding backing pump can reach operational pressures as low as 10³ mbar (0.75 X10³ Torr).
Mechanical Booster Pumps are positive displacement pumps that do not have internal compression. They are not capable of compressing to the atmosphere directly, so they need a backing pump. The ratio of the pumping speed of the backing pump and Roots pumps will determine the combination. This is called gradation or staging ratio. The most common gradations range from 1:2 to 1:8. The roots blower has a pumping speed that is 2-8 times faster than the attached backing pump.
Gradation is the difference in pressure between the outlet and inlet of the RVP at each operating point. The pressure difference is the basic determinant of how much motor power is required. The pressure difference across the Roots vacuum pump should not exceed a set value to avoid overloading the motor or overheating it.
Everest booster vacuum pump (Type A & Type B) are equipped with either simple flange-mounted motors or foot-mounted motors depending upon the weight of the motors. They are directly connected to mains voltage and typically operate at a constant speed. These roots pumps can only be used below a specific pressure because the motor load is higher with increasing suction pressure. This type is not suitable for long pumping cycles, or stationary operation at low pressure. It is impossible to switch the roots stage on or off continuously for fast, cyclical pumping. A pressure gauge is required to monitor the pump's cut in point. This will ensure that the mechanical vacuum booster remains reliable. There are many ways to seal the drive shaft against atmospheric pressure.
Everest has two series Type A (Seal design) and Type B (Seal-less design) that offer a variety of solutions for various Chemical, Pharmaceutical & Industrial applications.
Everest MVB Type A comes with various options on sealing such as Nitrile, Viton & PTFE Seals as the primary seal, selection of which is dependent on the type of vapour being pumped.
Everest RVP can be purchased with integrated frequency converters (VFD's) or with external converters. Frequency converters are an elegant and efficient way to protect Roots Vacuum Pumps against overload. These converters adjust the motor speed to match the load, ensuring safe operation at all operating ranges. The pump will rotate slower at high pressure and then accelerate to lower pressures until it reaches its maximum speed. All Everest RVPs with frequency controllers can be operated at higher speeds than the Direct-Online version. This allows for a significant increase in pumping speed within the lower pressure area. RVP are equipped with a frequency converter & can easily be monitored and connected to the internet. They are also industry 4.0 ready.

TESTIMONIALS
Everest Vacuum is a leading vacuum systems solution provider with great after sales service & support, they have done brilliantly well in understanding our
complete product & process requirement, designed a customised solution for us & supported us in commissioning of the product in the right fashion. We had to upgrade our installations from Stem/Water Jet ejectors to Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps looking into the enormous advantages that it would offer in terms of consistent deep vacuum & environmental friendly technology. We are very glad that we dealt with such a company who demonstrated high standards of professionalism along without losing sight of customer requirements. We would like to work with them again in the future & wish them all the best.
